微软Windows Vista放出不久就有人发现它与SQL Server 2005以及Visual Studio不兼容,微软也在当时透露SQL Server的不兼容问题将在SP2版本中解决,根据"Semi-Useful BI Musings" blog的消息,能"兼容绝大部分"功能的SQL Server SP2将在2月19日发布."Get ready to download, because SP 2 was declared 'ready to ship' last night".
"The SQL team is hoping to have it ready for public download Monday-morning-ish (PST)."
在此之前,SQL Server 2005 SP1发布与2006年四月,因为UAC和管理员策略的修改,SQL 2005在当时便已经不支持Windows Vista.
